Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

It looks like Joe McCarthy to me.
ReplyDeleteKyrambler,
ReplyDeleteWe have a winner!
Yes, it is Senator McCarthy.
PJM
Aw, I think PJM has been throwing out easy ones the past 2 Saturdays so he can spend more time assembling his big-boy's erector set in the backyard.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I knew him right off, and then I check TINEYE and there are at least 40 references to that photo
ReplyDeleteWell at least we have tomorrow's domestic update to look forward to.
Hoping that we will get a photo of all the different colored eggs.
They say that white chickens lay white eggs.
Red cheickens lay brown eggs.
I wonder what color eggs a black chicken lays?
By the way, good job kyrambler.
ReplyDeleteI recognized the face, but couldn't come up with the name. Congrats kyramber for pulling the name out of the hat.
ReplyDeleteI coulda' been a contender. Honest. I finally knew one and didn't bother looking earlier because I never recognize the Mystery Person.
ReplyDeleteWhere is Joe when we need him NOW? We sure could use another Joe McCarthy today. Too many communists in American Politics!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if it is to many communist, but there are sure way to many crooks
ReplyDeleteShoot - The first one I recognized instantly! Being from Wisconsin didn't hurt - but it didn't make me any quicker.
ReplyDeletePJM,
ReplyDeleteOld "Picture" doesn't have to mean "photograph," does it?
May I respectfully suggest, for the upcoming week of Independence Day, that you might consider portraits of Founding Fathers, and see if we patriots out here can guess 'em?
Roger - thanks for the TINEYE reference. That is a wonderful resource.
ReplyDeleteRoger, the best indication to the colour eggs a hen will lay is the colour of its ears...I have grey hens that lay green eggs..but they have greenish ears.
