- I grew up in West Texas, and could not wait to get away. I got away, and went to the University of Texas, and then on to Stanford. I saw the world, and decided what I really wanted was to be in West Texas. So here I am, right back where I started. I had it all, and found it was not that great.

To be honest with you, I'm not really sure specifically where I remember him from. I just a had a wee inkliing that I knew his face. I think it may have been from watching a documentary or reading something on the sinking of the Lusitania and seeing him in it! I just had to check that connection and I found him surprisingly quickly!

ReplyDeletePJM never had a chance to think about his breakfast.
I recognized this as Elbert Hubbard as he was killed when the Lusitania was torpedoed by a German u-boat in 1915. His photo is a book I read about the sinking.
