Contest Day
Today is Saturday, and that means Mystery Person Contest. Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to identify the man smoking the cigar. Let the Games Begin!
My sweetie thought the woman looked like Clara Barton, so I looked for her family. Morris Whitman doesn't appear to have been bearded, but Walt Whitman certainly did. That's my guess
Thanks Ray. Sometimes I'm away camping with the Boy Scouts (as I will be next weekend), but these last couple weeks have just been hard, so I needed the extra sleep.
What are they doing anyway? I thought at first maybe the girl was poking at a fire, but I dont thing Alexander would have his hand that close. Is that an old oild filter just below what the girl is holding? I'm thinking maybe he invented the oil filter before he realized that the engine hadn't come along yet, at least not with pressurized oil systems. Now with the dissapointment of his useless invention they are trying to burn it.
I can't even tell there is someone smoking a cigar in the picture! Congrats to all who could make guesses and to Nate, and of course PJM for such a fun contest - again!
That is U. S. Grant
ReplyDeleteCharlie B.,
ReplyDeleteNope, not going to cut it. This is not US Grant.
The game continues!
PJM
Chester Garfield?
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ray,
ReplyDeleteNice try, but it comes up short.
PJM
John Brown?
ReplyDeletePope George,
ReplyDeleteNo, your answer is not correct.
Perhaps I will win today?
PJM
President Benjamin Harriso??
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteIt is not President Benjamin Harriso
PJM
is it john muir?
ReplyDeleteJoe,
ReplyDeleteNo, that is not going to be a winner.
Hmmm . . . maybe I should start planning my victory celebration now.
PJM
Brigham Young
ReplyDeleteHenry David Thoreau?
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteNot Brigham Young
PJM
Geezer,
ReplyDeleteNo, your entry is not correct.
Wow, I think I have stumped you all!
PJM
Czar Nicholas Romanov?
ReplyDeletePope George,
ReplyDeleteIt is not Czar Nicholas Romanov.
Perhaps I should call MRS. PJM and discuss potential victory breakfast for in the morning.
PJM
i'll be damned if it doesn't look like walt whitman, but i don't see how that could be right...
ReplyDeleteGood morning. Based on that profile, I'll go with Alexander Graham Bell.
ReplyDeleteDarn.
ReplyDeleteThe evil Nate Maas has once again foiled my dreams of victory.
Yes, it is the beloved inventor of the telephone, Alexandar Graham Bell.
I had hoped the picture would present him enough out of the normal context to catch you all off guard.
Next week will be different, Oh yes, it will be different.

ReplyDeleteI noticed that he has a hole in the sole of his shoe.

Everyone looks bored -- maybe they forgot to bring their iPhones?
ReplyDeleteSaved the day again, Nate. I thought
ReplyDeleteyou might be away somewhere.
Thanks Ray. Sometimes I'm away camping with the Boy Scouts (as I will be next weekend), but these last couple weeks have just been hard, so I needed the extra sleep.
