Taxis

Today's picture was taken in Washington DC in 1914, and shows a line of taxis parked in front of Union Station. I wonder what cab rides cost back then?

  1. It looks like if you got a flat tire back then , it was more than 5 nuts off to dismount and 5 nuts on to mount the spare.
    You had to take the tire apart and patch it or put on a whole new one.
    As far as the rate goes, I wonder if they applied what ever fee they wanted to. No taxi commison back then?
