Today is Saturday . . . the day I finally beat the Evil Nate Maas, My Arch-Nemesis. I doubt we will even hear a peep out of him today. Also, please note my scientific pole in upper left . . . over 75% of the people think Nate is cheating at this game. Well, today I put an end to his nonsense. There is no way he can get this one. No way ANY of you can get this one.OK, your mission, should you decide to accept it . . . who is she, and what is she most remembered for? Oh, I almost forgot . . . if your initials are N.M., what did her Father do?

PJM's head slumps and he breathes a deep sigh. He sees that he must declare Ray in the UK the winner. He wonders how Ray could have gotten this as it is an obsure picture of Billie Burke. The answer he was looking for was, Billie Burke, the Good Witch of the North from Wizard of Oz, but he realizes he must declare Ray the winner, based on his "Wizard of Oz" mention.

It sounds like you're creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.

After getting the name, I looked it
up in Wikipedia.
It gave me The Wizard of OZ.
I could find no reference to her
father, although I didn't spend
much time on it.
When I put in my guess, I was
vaguely hopeful and surprised
when I found I'd won.
I think Nate & Son, chatting with
PJM gave me a very slight edge.
And of course, Luck.
Since I never have seen the WoO, I had no idea about this person. But the really old photos of her are captivating! She was a stunner! And how on earth did those Gibson girls get their hair to do that, without the products available to us today? I'd love to know more about that. Thanks again, PJM. Always fun to visit here.
ReplyDeleteKristi, please watch the Wizard of Oz, it's a wonderful fantasy. There are those who believe it is filled with political symbolism of the day but I never gave that a thought and enjoyed it simply because it both scared and amazed me as a child.
