Coolidge with Indian Maiden

Today we have a picture of Calvin Coolidge meeting with an Indian delegation. Have you noticed that Coolidge never looks happy in a picture. I don't think he was really into the whole Washington social scene.

How about we shake things up a little bit with an unannounced contest. What is the name of the book being presented to Coolidge? I will check back this evening and see if anyone has gotten it.

  1. Miss Ruth Muskrat, a Cherokee Indian, presents Mr. Coolidge with a copy of The Red Man in the United States, a survey of the present day American Indian.

  5. Is there a picture of Coolidge anywhere looking like he was enjoying himself? He certainaly wasn't a man of "few words" because he was a good public speaker and prolific writer with a wry sense of humor. Coolidge was not a trivial conversationalist or socializer. (He could entertain himself.) This puts it in a nutshell:
