Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

That one lady on the right looks like she's doing the can-can. Naughty!
ReplyDeleteCute picture...looks like they are having great fun!
ReplyDeleteUnlike many photos from the period, they don't have the staid, solemn poses we always find.
ReplyDeleteIN 1903, with faster film they could take more impromptu shots.
ReplyDeleteso cute! The guy in the center with the awesome mustache is great! Could you imagine swimming in that stuff?
ReplyDeleteI'd like to wear that to the beach today.
ReplyDeleteLove this photo and how much fun they are having. These types of suits are much better than the "old fashioned" wool ones that women wore in the 19th century! :-) Can you just imagine? We think these bathing costumes might be too bulky but they were probably made of cotton or linen. The old ones were wool and covered literally neck to feet.
