Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
Nate,Welcome to the contest.I see the resemblance, but no not Wilbur.PJM
Is it Arthur Goebel Jr.?
Mark,It is not Arthur Goebel.Looks like we have a real contest going this week.PJM
Okay, is it Arch Hoxsey?
looks like a young FDR
Nate,Another losing entryRoss,See note to Nate above.Ha!PJM
Oh, good, there's the PJM we all know and love. For a moment there, based on your first answer, I thought you might have been ill.
How about John Moisant?
Nate,Your latest entry is no better than the pathetic first two.William,Your entry joins the long list of pitiful attempts this morning.Only I know the mystery person!PJM
Is it Glenn Curtiss?
Mark,Is that your final answer? If so, it is not correct.Wow, we have a bunch of half-baked entries this morning.PJM
Thomas D Milling
We have a winner. My nemisis, the evil Nate Maas has foiled me again.Yes indeed, it is Harry Atwood.PJM
Your contest regularly expands my mind. Until today, I was unaware how many early aviators looked so much alike.
Nate,A lot of them wore that funny looking little hat.PJM
Yeah, it could be the hat, or it could be the that so many died so young and before too many photos had been taken of them.
Good contest today PJM! I didn't find the hat confusing. But the fact that all the mentioned tries in the contest were what we call back home "fancy lads". You just can't tell one from another. lol! Hope everyone has a nice turkey day!
Yes, it was the "fancy lads" aspect that had me perplexed.
My, he *is* all dressed up, isn't he? Well, when the plane crashed, he'd be dressed for the funeral. (That's not nice, is it?) S'funny, I'd love to go up in a hot air balloon, but HATE flying in an airplane or any sort.
It is certainly interesting for me to read this post. Thank you for it. I like such themes and anything connected to this matter. I would like to read a bit more on that blog soon.
I missed the contest today, tendingto routine matters. Would have beena hard one for me...unless I gotlucky. As always, well done Nate.
