St. Botolphs Church

This picture was taken in 1898, and shows St. Botolphs church. The picture was made with the photochrom process, which was a very early technique for generating color pictures. The picture is in Boston, England.

    that process seems to give the photo an interesting texture, like it was hand painted, which I understand some earlier b&w photos were.

    Yet these pictures have a lot more detail.

  4. Known as the Boston Stump, the tower can be seen for many miles across the Fens. St Botolph's is celebrating 700 years this year!
