Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

ReplyDeleteNo William, I would not make a round 2 that easy. I intend to win today!

Is that Camille Clifford, the famous Gibson Girl?
ReplyDeletePam
I am sorry for my delay in responging . . . I had to go feed the peacocks.
ReplyDeleteNope, it is not Camille.
PJM
Well on the off chance that you had to take the wagon to town to pick up peacock feed and didn't have time today...You know how you get when you drive by the tractor store window with the wife's honeydo list in hand...;)
ReplyDeleteWilliam the Cruel,
ReplyDeleteYeah, keep pointing out that I dont have a tractor. Next summer, oh yes, next summer I will have my tractor. I must say I have gained huge husband points this summer with project peacock, and fixing the sink.
Oh, yes, I forgot to mention that today is Mrs. PJM's birthday. I got her a nice cookbook, and some fancy tins of tea. Just the things she likes.
The tractor is next to a certainty at this point, in my mind.

Have'nt found mystery lady yet,

LIllie Langtry
ReplyDeleteRay,

ReplyDeleteAlice Roosevelt, Teddy's daughter?
Lizbette,
ReplyDeleteNo it is not TR's daughter.
Hmmmm . . . perhaps I will win today.
PJM
I'll guess Ima Hogg.
ReplyDeleteAhhhhhh . . . foiled again by the evil Nate Mass. Yes, this is the woman known as THE first Lady of Texas, Ima Hogg.
ReplyDeletePJM
Just reading the previous comments now. My best wishes to Mrs. PJM for a happy birthday.
ReplyDeleteYou learn something new every day. I had no idea Ima Hogg was a real person.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful portrait.
ReplyDeleteGood *guess* Nate, and sharp work
POPE GEORGE RINGO on the first
mystery photo.
I don't get it. You don't need peacocks any more than you need a tractor. Your wife was willing spend loads of money on some birds to make herself happy. (The birds would have been fine with cheaper housing.) Why won't she let you spend loads of money on something you don't need to make yourself happy?
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteWhen Mrs. PJM is happy, everyone is happy.
PJM
Here's hoping your gifts feather your cap!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Mrs. PJM!
Re: Ray UK: Thanks! I'm proud to say this is my 2nd win in the Mystery Person Contest.
ReplyDeleteP.S. To Mrs. PJM: Happy Birthday!!!
Loved the Texas pics this week! Always fascinated by the history lessons...and I so enjoy the visits through comments.
ReplyDeleteWishing Mrs. PJM sparkles, and shimmers, and stardust!
I was hoping you'd have Tx Gov Dan Moody for Mystery Person. I admire what little I know about him....Took the KKK to court & won (1st time ever) and broke up government kickbacks. Judi
ReplyDeleteDo you have any old pictures of sheet music? Or maybe just sepia tone a Piece?
ReplyDeleteIma Hogg???!!
ReplyDeleteIma Hogg???!!
This is like naming your son Sue!
Some wag commented on the cruelty of Mr & Mrs Brad Pitt naming their kid "Shiloh Pitt".
