Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Marie Stopes?
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Heather. No the person is not Marie Stopes. Also, the person is not named Heather if you were going to guess that next.
ReplyDeletePJM
Mary Katherine Campbell
ReplyDeleteWilliam, welcome to the contest. Your entry is wrong, but it is nice to have you playing along. Try Again!
ReplyDeletePJM
Rose Coyle
ReplyDeleteShe bears a slight resemblance to Frances Cleveland, though I am sure it is not her. The tiarra possibly indicates royalty?
ReplyDeleteWilliam . . . wrong again.
ReplyDeletePope George . . . like Heather and William, your guess has come up short.
PJM
New to the game, could it be Gwen Dew
ReplyDeleteJack,
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the game. We appreciate your participation, feeble as it is. No it is not Gwen Dew. You are joining a large group of pathetic guessers this morning.
ONLY I KNOW THE IDENTITY OF THE MYSTERY PERSON. Ha Haaaa Ha.
PJM
Mary Pickford
ReplyDeleteWilliam, William, William. I had such high hopes for you, yet you appear to be no more worthy than the others. Some day I will find someone worthy of the contest . . . but probably not today.
ReplyDeleteIt is not Mary Pickford. We already did her several months ago.
PJM
Yes, but I would not put it past you to sneak a profile in. I went with the Miss America angle but must concede today in the belief that Nate will be along soon to foil you. I have work in the shop to tend to.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it's Lillie De Hegermann-Lindencrone ?
ReplyDeleteWilliam,
ReplyDeleteWhat, you quit so soon? The game is just beginning. No, Nate is out of luck this week. This one will put him in his place. My guess is we won't hear from him, and he will come up with some Lame excuse that he was doing some noble deed and would not play this morning.
PJM
Jack,
ReplyDeleteSuch wild guesses. Soon I will forced to inpliment a 3 strikes rule, but for today, just keep your crazy guessing going.
No, it is not Lillie De Hegermann-Lindencrone
PJM
Perhaps a role reversal sometime? I must finish some things promised for today.
ReplyDeleteQueen Marie of Rumania
ReplyDeleteGood job Lady Anne!
ReplyDeleteLady Anne,
ReplyDeleteWE HAVE A WINNER ! ! !
Good job.
Queen Marie.
I tried to hand this one to Marie on a Silver Platter. She always gusses her name Marie. So every day this week I posted a picture of a person named Marie. People noticed the trend on Thursday, so I posted a person and did not mention that they went by the name Marie. People even caught that.
ReplyDeleteSo, Marie, I tried to give this one to you, but you did not play!
PJM
Hey! I played at 6 am with Marie Dressler, then went back to bed! Humph!
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe you can do a William trend next.
I love this blog, but it's sad when you wake before seven on a day off and still get the feeling that you've been slothful. Congratulations to Lady Anne.
ReplyDeleteA pretty, pretty Marie!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Lady Anne.
ReplyDeleteEven if I'm not around for the actual game, I am always finding an excuse now on Saturdays to see who the Mystery person was and how long it took...
PJM your responses are classic....
Great job Lady Anne.

I always enjoy this on Saturday even if I am always too late to play. It's fun reading all the responses, especially those of PJM. LOL.
ReplyDeleteVery fun. I can never participate since I'm up early working in the garden; but I enjoy coming in for lunch and reading the wonderful contest. Thanks for the fun PJM.
ReplyDeleteI found today's Mystery Person
ReplyDeletereally difficult. I was looking
up European Princess's.
Well done Lady Anne.
