Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Ah, another wonderful portrait by Gertrude Kasebier, the same woman who took, the Portrait (Miss N), shown the day before yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a Tusseaud Wax figure. Looks like a man with a strong sense of calm.
ReplyDeleteLooking at this picture, I recall the great but somewhat forgotten American actor, Jeff Chandler. He was a prominent actor in the 50's and starred along with Jimmy Stewart in the classic film "Broken Arrow" (in which he played Kochis). I believe that he was of American Indian heritage. A great classic western that I would strongly suggest anyone to check out. P>S. Chandler had a lucrative career but died on the operating table, the result of medical malpractice, in 1961.
