Today we bring you not one, not two, but THREE Mystery people. To win you have to name all three correctly. I will not tell you anything other than if you got all three right. For example, if you enter and have two right and 1 wrong, all I will say it is "wrong". This makes it harder for you to just guess and zero in on it. Lets Go! Saturday, March 28, 2009

My guess would be Winston Churchill, T.E. Lawrence and ... Emir Abdullah of Transjordan at the 1921 Cairo Conference.
ReplyDeleteWOW. Rob from Amersfoort got it on first try. He even gave a date, and the occasion for the picture.
ReplyDeleteWell, Well, we finally have someone worthy of beating the Evil Nate Maas.
Good job Rob.
PJM
Wow! Rob you da man.
ReplyDeleteI was planning on a one man spoiler, Winston. But you nailed them all.
And thanks PJM for all of the entertainment.
Winston Churchill, T.E. Lawrence, and Prince Feisal
ReplyDeleteMWB,
ReplyDeleteNo, Rob got it right the first time. It is Emir Abdullah.
PJM
Thanks. I had to identify the mysterious third guy by his scarf at some group photo. I learned this technique from last weeks contest (the actress was recognized by her dress)... It's entertaining and instructive!
ReplyDeleteWell done Rob, really
ReplyDeletequick, and very precise.
Rob that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteYou did me a favor....I can't play today, my little dog is very sick and I'm waiting for the vets office to open to take her in. Now I won't be feeling like I'm missing out on the fun. Have a great day everyone.
Way to go, Rob!
ReplyDeleteDear Heather
ReplyDeleteI hope your dog will be OK. They become such a part of our lives and it really hurts to see them suffering. I hope it makes a full and speedy recovery. Let us know.
Charlie
thanks, and Heather I wish your dog will get better soon! I have an old cat and I love her (despite some beast of prey behaviour like eating all my plants and scratching the couch and the wallpaper).
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Rob!
ReplyDeleteIn December there was the triple play featuring Abdullah, Lawrence and Sir Herbert Samuels. I was going to ask for a do-over since our balloon was popped so early. But since Heather's going to be out this am with her little dog, I can wait. I have two dogs so I know. They get me up early on Sat. so I wont miss THIS!
Heather, Doesn't it seem like it always happens on the weekend when the vets' closed?
Thank you all for your concern. I have a miniature schnauzer that has been very special to me. She's been a great companion after my divorce and has a wonderful, loving personality. Months ago she was having some vomiting issues so I was told to feed her steamed rice with chicken broth and that helped a lot, with only occasional problems. I noticed the last couple days she's been drinking water excessively. Then yesterday when I came home from work she had gotten sick everywhere. I had to carry her outside to "do her business" and she just crawled under a bush and wouldn't come out. This morning the vet did some blood and other tests. Though they weren't conclusive, her urine is diluted, which, since she's dehydrated it should be concentrated. The vet thinks my dog has either 1) Addison's Disease, 2)Diabetes Insipidus or 3) Portosystemic Shunt - Acquired. Have any of you had any experience with these diseases?
ReplyDeleteSorry, Heather. I'm not up on any of those. Pray she get's well
ReplyDeleteHeather:
ReplyDeleteHi, I just got here this minute, I couldn't play this morning, either.
I've been busytaking care of my dad - my mom is back in the nursing home again.
I'm sorry to hear about your dog, how is she? How old is she?
I have a cat that's 10 years old.
Rob - good job!!!!
Does anyone know what's behind Churchill?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a bicycle or carriage.
I can't tell.
T.E. Lawrence wrote that he was not particularly fond of Abdullah. Feisal was a good friend of his whom he translated for at the Cairo Conference, and who became King of Iraq.He was the younger brother of Abdullah. In the picture they are talking to each other and are a few paces behind Churchill. Therefore i thought it must be Feisel. And it is triple not tripple.
ReplyDeleteOh, Good question Smartgirl - oddly enough I noticed and identified the motor cycles in the background as two Norton 500cc motor cycles c1920's before I even looked at the three people in the picture!!
ReplyDeleteAs a senior school boy in the 60's in what was Nyasaland, now Malawi, I earned pocket money at a local m/c dealer - first job was restoring an old Motor cycle similar to those in the mystry pic.
See the second image down at this web site...

But I did at least identify Winston and TE Lawrence as two of the three mystry people - if only as a secondry observation. Sorry PJM - I should have looked at the people first...
