This is a picture of a French soldier in World War I wearing a gas mask. It is interesting to note that even his dog is fitted with a gas mask just for him. Also notice in the background, there appears to be two men carrying the wounded from the battlefield. I have been enjoying all your comments on the recent photos, and No, there is no particular reason for showing gas mask photos. Today will likely be the last on this topic for a while. I found the pictures interesting. The one with the nurses was probably my favorite. Thursday, March 5, 2009

Interesting story about Stubby. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have a great idea as to how you can finally stump the bloggosphere with this Saturday's mystery photo: Find one of a famous person in a gas mask. I'm only half-joking because I am sure there is at least one out there!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite was yesterday's colour photo. The composition and lighting was awesome.
ReplyDeleteLe chien est le meilleur ami de l'homme, donc il est normal qui a le droit de mettre un masque, juste un detail, il y a un homme sur une civiere derriere en arriere plan!!!!
ReplyDeleteC'etait pendant quelle guerre??
I agree with Stem, and I'd want a mask for my cat too. Good attention to detail, I didn't notice the wounded being carried away in the background. This looks like WWI don't you think?
ReplyDeleteThx Heather, meme pour ton chat, c'est une vie aussi!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's some photograph. With the stretcher and gas masks, it certainly makes the point that war is hell. A much more telling photo than any of the other gas mask photos. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHeather:
ReplyDeleteI just got your message!!!
The stars must be in some sort of alignment, or maybe we're realted.
I didn't have have time to check this blog yesterday, my mother is in the hospital, so I'll check your blog later.
Re the gas masks, I want to "duck and cover" every time I see these photos.
PS - I have a cat, too.
PJM:
ReplyDeleteThe nurses are my favorite, too, but I like the dog.
The four guys were really scary.
Most bad looking French soldier I've ever seen.
