Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

Nobel prize winner,
ReplyDeleteMadame Curie?
Ray,
ReplyDeleteMost people over here are not even up, and the contest is already over. Yes, you are right, it is Madam Curie, who discovered Radium, and was early pioneer in study of Radiation.
Yes sir, you are good. Poor Heather did not have a chance. She probably slept in again today.

It is just 7:05 here and there's a winner?? I'm going to have to start getting up earlier. Good Job Ray!

ReplyDeleteIn defence of Heather
and all other American
viewers of your site,
we get your post just
after noon.
Thought I'd mention it
in fairness to all.
I'm sure your aware of
this.
Ray,
ReplyDeleteYes, one of those advantages to living in the UK . . . slight advantage on the old Mystery Person contest.
Thanks for participating!

Oh my goodness! It can't be over already! I vote to post two on Saturdays....one in the am and one in the pm. I look forward to this all week :-)
ReplyDeleteNo sleeping in again. We got an ice storm and I was out trying to access damage.
Oh, so no fair! :-) Boston is buried in snow, and I had to get up at dawn to shovel! Je suis desole!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sheila.
ReplyDeleteIn future I won't post
my comment until 8:30,
your time.
And that's if I know it.
This is the first one I've
got, straight off.
Ray, don't hold back your answers. Believe me, if I would have been on and knew the answer I would have posted it. You did great! I'm just greedy and want more....
ReplyDeleteYour too hard on yourself,
ReplyDeleteHeather. I didn't have to
check for ice damage.
Well, not yet anyway.
Hooray! I guessed this one correctly!!!
ReplyDelete(A first for me!)
Jeez, I didn't stand a chance!
ReplyDeleteYour comment gave it away..too easy.

ReplyDeleteMaybe you could schedule the mystery person one hour earlier each time? That would give every time zone a shot, and if you go earlier, it would be like going back in time. Appropriate, I think.
