Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

ReplyDeleteAll I can say is Pray for our Country!
ReplyDeleteI would hope people who pray would do so regardless of who the president elect is. There is never a guarantee that the person elected is going to do the right thing for America, as is evidenced by the current administration.
ReplyDeleteI'd say that's a VERY fair point, Norkio.
ReplyDeleteBut I have high hopes for Obama and am proud to be an American today!
Hoover's administration "oversaw" the beginning of the great Depression because his administration raised taxes over 20 percent at a time when the economy was already struggling.
ReplyDeleteDoes this sound familiar???
Now I consider myself a moderate, but what the American people did in this election was the equivalent of handing an alcoholic the keys to a liquor store.
As of now, there are no checks and balances (or very few) in our political system.
Hold on to your wallets and put yor money in overseas banks!!!
I would really hesitate to put any of my in money overseas banks for three reasons: It will hurt our banking system recover even more, most overseas banks are in big trouble, too,and it is pretty sad to see people who have lost their faith in America.
ReplyDeleteWe are still the best there is and we will come out of this experience better and stronger. I did not vote for the President-elect but I will support him as we all should. Stop whinning and start working as you can to help. Good comment Noriko!
Herbert Hoover was elected in 1928, yes. That's EIGHTY years ago, not 90.
