Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
About this site:
I have been an avid collector of old photographs and documents for over 30 years. The photographs on this site are derived from material I have collected over the years. Some came from old family albums, some from material I bought at flea markets over the years, and some from government archives of public domain images, including the US Library of Congress, and the National Archives. We appreciate you visiting this blog, and hope you find it interesting.

gorgeous. i love your site---very interesting. i'm glad you give a bit of background with your images although the images could stand alone.
ReplyDeleteEdward Curtis was born in my city, Whitewater, Wi. A couple of years ago, we had an Edward Curtis exhibit at UW- Whitewater sponsored in part by the Whitewater Arts Alliance. We also have a permanent exhibit in our city.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate Edward Curtis's photography as compilations of great 'photographic' elements; however, I disagree with his claimed accurate representation of culture. Although his photos are beautiful, they do not represent Native Americans as they were in any stage of history.
