President Woodrow Wilson

This is an old picture of President Woodrow Wilson. He is riding in a carriage in the Armistice Day parade. The picture was taken in 1921. Cars were popular by this time, but apparently Mr. Wilson still rode in a carriage on occasion.

  1. That is interesting.Since long I want to find out which president frp; the beginning of the 20 century was the last to use horse carriages, even occasionally. I thought it was Teddy Roosevelt. It may be Wilson.

  2. Interesting Question. Calvin Coolidge rode in a car for his inauguration. I dont remember seeing him in a parade in a carriage . . . always an open motor car.
