Chain Gang

Today we feature a photograph of a Chain Gang in rural Georgia in 1941, The picture was taken in Oglethorpe County. A group of black Convicts are seen chained together, working on the road, under the watchful eye of the prison warden.

  2. There is that one place in Arizona where the sherrif makes the prisoners live in tents and the desert and work hard. I think he is one of a kind though.

  3. Yes. Sheriff Arapaio in Arizona. He has built himself quite a reputation as a tough sheriff. The convicts in his camp,though,are there for non-violent less serious crimes,serving short sentences. They are not much of a threat.
