Wow, and there are Swastikas on the floor!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing. It looks like they are in the tile work. It was in the 1920's that the Nazis took the shape as a symbol of their movement. It was a fairly common decorative shape before that. Likely at the time this photograph was made, the shape was not widely associated with Nazis.
ReplyDeleteYes, I think that this is the explanation. Swastikas were indeed not unknown before the raise of Nazis. I have the photograph of Jacqeline Kennedy as a kid, wearing an indians costume, decortated with a big Swastika.
ReplyDelete. . . And I am pretty sure she was not a Nazi :)
ReplyDeleteGood Pic again. Nazi Swastikas? Cool tile work. Swastikas are neat looking, too bad there association prohibits there use. Damn Nazi's
ReplyDeleteThe Swastika is still a very important symbol in hinduism. However, I think that after 1945, they've probably changed the tiles...
ReplyDeleteI like her style. ;)
