Each day we bring you one stunning little glimpse of history in the form of a historical photograph. Enjoy!
Absolutely stunning photo. I can feel this warrior's proud yet humble heart.
I think it was a wonderful thing that Edward Curtis did from the late 1890's to early 1910's. He saw this vanishing way of life, and set across the country to document it. His Native American photographs are among my favorite collection of old photos.
I have a marvelous book called Touch the Earth by TC McLuhan - wonderful photographs and philosophies of Native Americans and Native American life. I wonder if you're familiar with it?I did a total Native American theme for a printmaking class in college and drew all my inspiration from that book.
I have not seen the book, but wil have to check it out.Paul
