On this date (July 11th) in 1804, Burr participated in the infamous Burr-Hamilton duel. This was a duel between two prominent American politicians, former Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton and sitting Vice President Aaron Burr. Burr shot and killed Hamilton.
