Injured Soldier, World War I

This is a great photograph of an injured British Soldier in World War I. He is being treated by his comrades beside a railroad track. Stretcher is padded with hay to help comfort the victim.

  1. Soldier on the left suffers from 'trench foot' disease.

  2. It's interesting that three of these soldiers are Germans, two of whom appear to be tending to the injured British soldier.
    Possibly prisoners?
